MAKO SHARK TEETH

(Isurus genus, Eocene age)

The mako shark has long sharp curved teeth up to 2-1/4" long.

The modern day version is a sport fish that jumps like swordfish. The torpedo in World War II was fashioned from his streamlined shape. It grows to ten feet and a half a ton. The long narrow teeth are the same species as the modern-day mako.

The larger, wide flat teeth are extinct ancestors of the Megalodon shark (Isurus Hastalis)
